Happy Holidays from my lazy ass!

Although I have not posted in quite some time, I have been "moderately" busy on all things I.F related.

Now open for loads of business is my Artfire store, which you can find here, or by clicking "My Artfire Store".

Also, I have created a Facebook page! Woo!

That is all for now...more projects and wonderful craft-ness laters!

Is it getting a little dark in here or is it just me?

I have problems with crafting.

I go through brief and intense periods of crafting ADD in which I have started as many as 5 or 6 new projects all at the same time. Shortly after the CADD episode, I will go through a period of crapathy (craft + apathy...clever, no?) where I don't want to work on anything or I work on one thing, but with kind of a  meh attitude.

I think I eat too much sugar for breakfast. Or maybe it's the coffee. I drink  a lot of coffee.

Either way, I'm in a CADD week! Yay!! New projects!

I need a new wallet and I hate buying pre-made things, especially if I think I could make something similar or possibly even better. My honey spends a lot of time laughing at me because of it. We'll go into a store, and I'll say something like:

"Oooh! That is a cute purse."

To which he replies

"Well, it's only X dollars...why don't you just get it?"

Me: "Yeah, but I could make that. I could make that reeeal easy."

I think the reason that he laughs at that so much has to do with how often I say "I could make that". I would probably have to live for a thousand years to actually make all the things I've said I could make.

Anyhow...here's the wallet!

He looks a little sad in this picture...

I love this canvas-type fabric, cause I can draw right on it with pencil.

This is where I left off last night.

The green stuff is not part of the finished product. I had to add a little "border" cause I put the front part too close to the edge of the fabric and couldn't work it in the embroidery hoop! Jeez.

Well, off to work on various projects, including my new, soon to be open ArtFire store!!!

So...no new posts for almost 6 days now. I know. Unforgivable.

This whole blogging thing is not something I'm used to right now. I totally get wrapped up in the minutiae of my day to day life and forget that I decided to do this. No, that I committed to do this. And the crafts. Cause it's really all about the crafts.

I've been working on this awesome little wallet. It's made out of canvas (or linen...I'm not sure) that I got for pretty much beans at the Sally Ann. I'm embroidering a design on it that was adapted from a little doodle I did at my old job.

(As a side note....I'm wondering if the last job was so bad. I mean, yeah, the hours were pretty horrible, the actual "work" sucked and thinking about going there caused me to have horrible panic attacks, but at least I made good money and had time to work on my own projects between calls...I guess you never appreciate what you have until it's gone!)

I'll be taking pics of the doodle and the wallet in progress later on tonight when I return home from "the job". Well, not right after...it's nacho night!!!

Bob, Imelda and Pedro. Undead at last!

Woo!

I finally got over my lazy, grumpy, unmotivated slump and got some work done! Lots of work. I think the 3 1/2 cups of delicious coffee I had for breakfast are still going to work on me! I just hope I'm asleep before I crash!

Not only did I finish Imelda, but I "branded" Pedro, and finally took some pictures of Bob.

(You know, when it's written down it doesn't look like much, but it was actually about 2 solid hours of work)

I also watched Clerks 2, which I've been meaning to do for quite a while now. I like to "watch" something while I work. I like the background noise. The best is something that ends in about 20 minutes or so (like an episode of Futurama or a nice LP on vinyl) so I have a reminder to get up and stretch out a little!

Bob was the very first zombie I made about a week ago (so far I still like him the best)

The red thingy is his intestines!

I think he is quite handsome...for the undead.

A close-up of the gore...

I like super-saturated, ultra contrasty pictures.
I think it's because I watch way too many cartoons.

Pedro was the next one I assembled (all of the zombies' parts -except Bob's- were made in a "batch" and assembled later). I had a lot of problems with Pedro...for some reason he just didn't want to work. But we sorted things out eventually.

His face is all messy 'cause he just ate.

A butt shot, intended to show the "branding"....not close enough.

The "branding" close-up, blurred for modesty.

Arrrgh! Braiiiins!!

Imelda is the latest, the one I started and finished this evening. It's not as obvious in the pictures, but I like how the yarn I used for her hair kinda looks like dreads!

Lovely dread-y hair.

I also like the extreme angles. And I love that our new apartment has these great spotlights in the kitchen!

....and this is the last thing you see before you get eaten. Oooo...scary!

Imelda was tired from all the picture-taking and decided to lie down.
Huh, I didn't even know Zombies could get tired.

Aaaaaa!

I was awesome to get something of importance accomplished this week. I add the qualifier "of importance" because I did  go to my job every day, so it's necessary to distinguish between the things I accomplished at my job and the actual work I did. I don't like my job....but I digress.

I hope to start a couple new projects soon, but I'm lacking some pretty necessary supplies, so in the mean time I'll be posting some pics of stuff I've already completed.

I'm off to drink some nice hot chocolate and then to bed!

Progress...haulted.

Things have been going slowly for the last couple of days...which explains my lack of posts.

Between not being able to sleep and having to work, I have barely even touched the zombies for 2 days now...

SIGH.....

...and when I do sit down to do some creating, things just aren't going as well. I think I have crafter's block.  It definitely helps to have the support and understanding of my sweetie (without whom this might not be possible), but that only goes so far.

Early to bed tonight. I'm going to take it reeeeal easy at work tomorrow. The nice thing about being a wage slave is the total lack of remorse I feel when I eff the pooch all day. Hopefully when I get home tomorrow evening I will at least have the energy to take some pics or something. But for now....

Bon Nuit!
